Tanzania in East Africa has very interesting tribal art pieces though very little is known about their ancient history. The Tanzania tribes produced fine wooden sculptures. This is a beautiful unique creation that is believed to be a powerful object for ancestral spirits and also used during rituals like initiation ceremonies. We could not ascertain the specific tribe this piece originates in Tanzania but we would like to believe its a Makonde sculpture. It has a brown patina with visible signs of usage and old age.
