The Songye are a Bantu ethnic group from the central Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Songye people, like Luba people, are well-known woodcarvers who are renowned for making ceremonial masks, power figures, and other ceremonial items. Authentic old and important Songye power figure from the Democratic Republic of Congo called Minkisi these important figures were commissioned to provide supernatural forces. The horn at the bottom of the figure was usually made from antelope horn. This is an old fetish and it shows visible signs of age and usage.
