This is a very lovely snouted headrest from the Samburu tribe of northern Kenya. This classic headrest has a wide stable base and a slightly curved platform, the significance of this headrest is yet to be understood. It is well-carved out of a single piece of wood (laichimi).
The following old block headrest has a deep reddish patina, bush collected with signs of frequent usage, wear due to old age. It is in perfect condition with no cracks or chips.
