An unusually old Tanzania shield made of hard buffalo leather. C The leather of the shield is integrated into this wood construction and stretched by means of leather strips. The large vertical strut also serves as the grip of the shield, featuring a leather handguard. The front of the external side outside shows noticeable remains of the red, and white paintwork that is typical of Tanzania shields. Overall an interesting object with impressive age and usage
