The Ngbaka are mostly found near the Gemena plateau are closely related to Babembe tribe on the northern corridor, of DRC Congo. Ngbaka figures are often found in pairs and are believed to represent their two primordial ancestors and are placed on altars in houses where they fulfil a protective role. Some of the Ngbaka sculptures are believed to bring good fortune.
