The Luguru are a Bantu cluster found in both east and central Tanzania in East Tanzania. Very little is known about the Luguru art. This sculpture represents a man standing straight with arms at the belly and such sculptures were personal to their owners. Very little is known about Luguru art so we are not well conversant with the use of this sculpture. It is a sculpture that is carved from wood, has visible signs of old age with a worn-out brown patina due to massive usage.
