The Lokele as known as Kele people are a Bantu ethnic group located, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. They live on the banks of the Congo River. They neighbour the Topoke, Budja, etc. Lokele statues were mostly carved by artists in relation to ancestral spirits. They were used by diviners or healers for healing purposes. This rare standing small miniature statue (fetish) is wood carved, with a brown patina, arms spread out wide and show signs of wear and tear reflecting extensive usage and old age.
