The Lega tribe is found in eastern DRC, the Lega live alongside Luba people who are their neighbours. All Lega art is used within the context of the Bwami society for the production of most Lega sculptures were individually owned by the highest-ranking society members and are the most coveted of all initiation objects. The following sculpture has a shinny brown patina and looks visibly old.
