This is an old finger ring from the Karamojong people. The Karamajong are an ethnic group of agro-pastoral herders living mainly in the north-east of Uganda. Among the Karamojong, finger rings were worn by the elites in society thus a symbol of status in society.
Karamajong ivory finger rings are quite rare and often difficult to come across they were never decorated with markings and have a plain look, this ring is undoubtedly old and shows signs of age, natural abrasion, and good usage.
