The Dinka people are a Nilotic ethnic group living in South Sudan. They mostly live along river Nile, from Mangala to Renk, in regions of Bahr el Ghazal, Upper Nile and Abyei Area of the Ngok Dinka in South Sudan. This is a wonderful wooden carved Dinka doll decorated with beads around the mid-section, hands and earrings. Such sculptures were made by young Dinka men and given to their new wives to be. The wife would then carry the doll on her back representing fertility. This doll has a khaki patina and looks old.
